Event safety in times of corona: a pandemic year – what we have been able to learn, what have we been able to shape, where do we go from here?
2020 has certainly been one of the most crucial years for the events and cultural industry.
Bans, official conditions, hygiene concepts, political discussions, a lack of planning certainty and – as a common theme running throughout – the constant question: what will the next corona protection regulation or the next meeting of experts bring, where do we go from here?
One thing emerges with absolute certainty from everything we have experienced over the past year, and that is that there is a new “normality” that is confronting us with the challenge of finding suitable concepts for our work and meeting particular requirements. This experience will leave its mark on most of us, even when people are able to congregate again without meeting special conditions.
So this crisis is also an opportunity to ask ourselves what we can learn, what scope there is for shaping things and where can we go from here.
This talk is aimed at event organisers, operators and artistes and is intended to help create a brief overview of the topic of events safety and the special challenges thrown up, taking the corona pandemic as an example.
