ABEKEJSER 'Blueprint'

The jazzy, funky sound of the Danish quartet Abekejser captivates with massive hip hop beats and creaking synth sounds, echoing rock guitars and a bass that fills the room. The four create a highly danceable mix of jazztronica and neo-soul, whose catchy melodies only gradually reveal their complex musical structures. "Abekejser", in German Monkey Emperor, formed in 2015 in Aarhus, Denmark, the city with the hottest music scene in Scandinavia at the moment. Their debut album "Floating Through The Universe", which already made noticeably enthusiastic waves in the bustling Scandinavian and British jazz scene, was already allowed to accept the Danish "Jazznytprisen" Award as "best jazz act of 2019". At the International Kulturbörse Freiburg they now present their second album "Blueprint", which was released in November 2021 at Jazzhaus Records.
