Ayom are musical seafarers who traverse the Black Atlantic from Brazil to Angola and Cape Verde, while retaining a clear Mediterranean identity. The four-nation sextet centred around the charismatic Brazilian singer Jabu Morales, Italian accordionist Alberto Becucci and Greek-Italian percussionist Timoteo Grignani fascinate with their breathtaking mix of Brazilian, tropical, Afro-Latin and Afro-Lusitanian sounds, played with irresistible swing. A tropical sun that penetrates grey clouds, interspersed with the cosmopolitan sounds of Lisbon and Barcelona. SA.LI.VA, their eagerly awaited second album was released in collaboration with the Brazilian producer and Grammy winner Kastrup in September 2024, and immediately made it into the Top 3 of the World Music Charts Europe.
