Tero Hyväluoma & Esko Järvelä are among the most renowned Finnish folk violinists of their generation. Raised in the region around Kaustinen - stronghold of the Finnish fiddling tradition, which was put on UNESCO's intangible world cultural heritage list at the beginning of 2022 - they both graduated from the Sibelius Academy and have been playing together in various bands for years, including the folk supergroup FRIGG.
TEHO. means "energy" in Finnish - and this is what the top-class violin duo exudes with every note. Deeply rooted in their own tradition, Esko & Tero light-footedly combine Finnish pelimanni-music, Norwegian Halling, Swedish Polska, Western Swing and composed, contemporary folk music, and experimentally refine traditional compositions with strong groove and cheeky strokes.
