The dark horseman of tradition

The term “Dullahan” comes from Irish mythology and stands for fallen heroes who live on as ghostly apparitions in the form of a headless horseman and is interpreted as an omen of death.

As the young Scottish Dallahan with banjo, fiddle, accordion and guitar come rushing in with a lively sound, the “u” has been replaced with an “a”.

The quartet enriches Scottish and Irish traditions with jazz, funk and pop, as well as American roots and sounds from the Balkans. Their “world folk” is breathtakingly virtuosic and triggers something liberating. The audience can look forward to musical fireworks!

The songs written by Jack Badcock create a contemplative mood. This voice gets under your skin. Ladies and gentlemen watch out: Here come the “dark horsemen of tradition”!
